The conference organized by the Association of Parents of Children with Disabilities Toplița took place in an atmosphere full of emotion, empathy and solidarity, with the main goal of raising awareness among the community about the difficulties and challenges faced by people with disabilities and their families. The event was an opportunity to share experiences and bring together people from various fields who showed their support for this noble cause.

Conference proceedings

The event began in a unique way, with a poem recited by Ionel Simota, a member of the Romanian Writers' Union, who, through his verses, paid homage to national values, faith and love of country. The poem was described as a form of prayer to God, bringing to the forefront the message of unity, peace and love of neighbor, as well as love for the homeland and divinity.

The conference continued with the intervention of a representative of the Diocese of Covasna and Harghita, who conveyed the blessings of Bishop Andrei and a pastoral message inspired by the words of the first Patriarch of Romania, Miron Cristea. They spoke about Christ as the doctor of comfort and about how every suffering and hardship in life is known by God, offering hope and encouragement to those present.

Association projects and community support

Mihăiță Zaiț, president of the Association of Parents of Children with Disabilities in Toplița, gave a moving speech, in which he thanked everyone present and those who support the association in its endeavor to build a day center for people with disabilities. He highlighted the challenges faced by families with children with disabilities and stressed the urgent need to have a local recovery and support center. He spoke about the involvement of the Toplița Orthodox Parish, which donated the land necessary for this project , and about the hope that the dream of creating a place where people with disabilities can be helped and integrated into the community will become a reality.

Mihăiță also shared a profound personal experience about his family's struggle with a rare disease that affected his mother, but who, through perseverance and medical support, managed to recover. This experience further motivated him to continue the fight to open a day care center.

Special guests and artistic moments

The event was also marked by the presence of special guests, such as the writer Ionel Simota and Gheorghe Filip, who offered moments of poetry and epigrams. In addition, there were musical moments offered by Diana Chiciu and Marian Bora, who performed traditional carols, creating an atmosphere of celebration and unity.

A special moment was represented by the intervention of the young Tudor Ionuț Grama, head of promotion at Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj, specializing in Computer Science. Tudor, a person with disabilities, talked about his academic and personal journey, about the challenges he encountered and how he managed to overcome them, becoming an example of ambition and perseverance. He sent a strong message of encouragement to all parents who have children with disabilities, emphasizing that, although life is full of obstacles, with a lot of patience and support, any dream can become reality.

Conclusions and hopes for the future

The conference ended on an optimistic note, with the message that the day center project for people with disabilities is not just a distant dream, but a reality that is taking shape thanks to the support of the community and the involvement of all those present. Mihăiță Zaiț promised to continue fighting for this center to become a place where people with disabilities feel accepted and have the necessary support for a better life.
